The AIA Austin Homes Tour offers a chance to get an inside look at 10 new spaces designed by the city's leading architects.
One of 10 homes selected to be on this year’s AIA Austin Homes Tour, this Charles Di Piazza and Chris Cobb design was inspired by the humble size and simple shapes of 1920s bungalows.
An annual case study in Austin residential design, the AIA Austin Homes Tour is a two-day, self-guided tour of 10 featured homes—a showcase of current trends in both traditional and contemporary architecture, renovation, and new construction.
This year’s tour has selected innovative architects such as Charles DiPiazza and Dick Clark to feature new projects that “can lend inspiration and perspective,” says AIA Austin Executive Director Ingrid Spencer. The tour shows “how spaces can be transformed through construction, how a home’s surrounding can be thoughtfully incorporated into the design, and how a variety of housing scales can fit flawlessly into Austin neighborhoods.” October 24–25
