People, Entertainment, sports,
Barron grew up here in ATX. A fourth-year defensive back at UT Austin who has thus far played 27 games with 11 starts, he is tied for sixth in program history with three non-offensive touchdowns. #23 reaches for the next level in everything he does, and Austin looks forward to seeing his next steps.

What inspired you to play FB?
Knowing that I had a gift from God in my talent for football, I wanted to make the most of that, so I took it the distance and never looked back. My brothers used to play football with me all the time on the trampoline, and my mother instilled it in me once she got me involved in football.
Why did you pick UT Austin?
Living here already and just growing up coming to the games, I used to sit with the band section when they were playing from the end zone, so it’s all a dream come true for the kid me. I love this university, and it provides so many opportunities, not just in football but in academics and every aspect of life.
What does living in Austin mean to you?
It’s a blessing to be able to still be a part of my family’s life more than a lot of players get to be and then to have this great city behind you. It’s really special.
What is in store for you in the future?
It’s in God’s hands, and I know He’s going to continue to keep doing amazing things, but I have the belief I’m going to be successful, whether that’s in football or anything else the future holds.
What is your absolute favorite thing to do?
I love to bowl, so I would probably say bowling. I play at least three to five games every time I go, and I try to go to different bowling alleys.
