Print after print, Katie Kime (katiekime.com) is always a stitch above the rest. Drawing constant inspiration from her travels and lifestyle, Kime is constantly designing new prints and trying new tactics for her customers. The eclectic Austin-based designer is well-known for her iconic city toile prints and other bright and unique designs scattered throughout cities, from high-end homes to dorm rooms alike.

Kime’s designs bring the feeling of home to you, wherever you are. That is what makes her brand so powerful. In the form of wallpapers, ice buckets, clothing and more are illustrations of famous landscapes and town landmarks. For over a decade, Kime has stayed true to her brand’s DNA and has set the standard of upscale nostalgia. She believes her well-known “Call Me Old Fashioned” gallery prints and “The World Is Your Oyster” wallpaper pattern kickstarted her brand, and her iconic city toiles have carried on the brand’s momentum.

A creative who inspires her own trends, we had to ask how she does it. “It’s about staying true to who we are. We take a deep look at our brand identity, what colors fit our brand and which ones don’t, and what our core customer is searching for,” she responds. “With that understanding, I believe you can still make updates to keep up with trends and stay true to yourself.”

Her website carries classics such as tailored shirts and monogrammed quality pajamas. Southern staples, if you will. Kime’s famous PJ designs during Christmas are the most stylish—everyone can match, including the dog. An exciting addition to her design repertoire is the upcoming “Mediterranean Collection,” which will venture into more ready-to-wear options. Kime says she is “even shooting the collection in Italy—it only feels appropriate.” Che bello!
