With a second studio in Rosedale, MOD Fitness owner Marnie Duncan talks barre fitness.
Why ballet barre ftness?
MARNIE DUNCAN: I have been teaching and taking barre classes since 2007 as part of my recovery from a severe spinal fracture. Barre ftness is my passion. It helped me recover, transformed my body, strength, and mind, and has become a lifestyle rather than just a workout.
Why did you choose this house for MOD Fitness’s expansion?
MD: I wanted to recreate the same vibe of our modern bungalow on South Lamar in the heart of Rosedale. I love the neighborhood; everything you could need is in one square mile around the studio.
The classes are very social.
MD: Our goal is to create a welcoming atmosphere where clients are inspired to live a healthy, active, and energized lifestyle. Instead of going to happy hour, they come to MOD to socialize. 4406 Burnet Road, 2041 S. Lamar Blvd., 512-765-5663
