Lauded linen house Peacock Alley celebrates fifty years of being at the forefront of exquisite design and craftsmanship. Here, a look at the brand’s rich history.

1941 Peacock Alley founder, Mary Ella Gabler, born in Pennsylvania Dutch Country (develops passion for linens and textiles from early age)

1965 Gabler becomes one of the first female stockbrokers on Wall Street

1971 Mary Ella’s “hobby” of making the Patchwork pillow is recognized by Neiman Marcus (with an order of 250 pillows)

1973 Peacock Alley becomes officially incorporated... cheers are in order

1982 The brand’s signature look of the All-White Bed debuts and is quickly carried in over 500 specialty stores

2003 The company sets up shop in its current 100,000-square-foot headquarters in Dallas and combines shipping, manufacturing and corporate offices all under one roof

2009 Embracing the ever-evolving technology, Peacock Alley launches its ecommerce channel

2010 The first flagship store in Dallas makes its grand debut

2024 Ushering in a new era, the brand will be moving—relocating its Dallas Flagship to Fairmount Street into a beautiful home circa 1900
