While speaking to Bonnie Brennan, President of Christie's Americas, it was clear she and her team methodically chose the pieces they are bringing to Austin. They undoubtedly know the history of Texas and the state’s strong Latin influence, leading them to seek artists such as Carlos Mérida and Fernando Botero. The “Post-War to Present, Prints and Latin American Paintings” pieces tie in the modernness of Austin culture while still honoring its rich history. Showcasing artists such as Lynne Drexler and Katherine Bradford, Christie’s Austin residency is open to the public and will draw an incredible crowd. After all, how often does a Keith Harring piece come to Austin publicly? It truly is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see these specific prints and pieces together. Below are the works that will be showcased and when you can attend. The noble and prestigious auction house has never been more relevant to Texans, especially in the capital city.
