Style & Beauty, People, Features,
Celebrated for their expert eye, we asked some of Austin's top tastemakers and power philanthropists to share their guide to giving.
KELLY FRYE
Actress Kelly Frye, with her time on strike, chose to get involved in the beautification of Austin. She has fallen in love with The Trail Conservancy and its new project since it became an arts-focused approach moving forward, as there has been a moratorium on adding any public art to the Trail for the past 10 years that was finally lifted. Frye is in charge of the Seaholm Intake Facility, working alongside the Mayor and her committee to ensure the funds are raised to make the once-forgotten building a pinnacle of Austin. Frye also is co-chair of their biggest annual fundraiser, Twilight on the Trail. She has an eye for art, and that is further proven in her picks for presents.

JOHN PAUL DEJORIA
JP needs no introduction. The entrepreneur and philanthropist is known for constantly lending a hand both physically and financially and is a staple in the Austin philanthropic scene. His keen eye for opportunity is gold when it comes to helping those in need. From producing films to helping build homes for people without housing in downtown Austin, he is the epitome of what giving back looks like. Founded in 2011, JP’s Peace, Love and Happiness Foundation is committed to spreading (per its namesake) peace, love and happiness through investing in people, protecting animals and conserving the environment. JP has impeccable taste and an evident eye for innovation. With that, here are his holiday must-haves.

DERRICK JOHNSON
Derrick Johnson is a well-known name anywhere, but especially in Austin. His Defend The Dream Foundation was founded in 2012 with the mission to provide low-income and inner-city young people with opportunities and resources to reach their full potential. Currently, they’re working with the Austin Ed Fund to update the library at Oak Springs Elementary School. Johnson returned to Austin after his time in the NFL and focused on DTD, and he continues to this day, in style, no doubt. Here are his selects for a fantastic holiday.
