For their new book with Rizzoli, Reed and Delphine Krakoff open the doors to a curated collection of their art-filled homes.
“Independently, we both had always had a passion for architecture, interiors, design and collecting,” says Reed Krakoff of his series of beautiful homes showcased in Houses That We Dreamt Of: The Interiors of Delphine & Reed Krakoff ($65, Rizzoli) due out this fall.
The book features stunning photography by Ivan Terestchenko of the Krakoffs’ homes in East Hampton (the Arts and Crafts estate Lasata circa 1917 that was once the summer home of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis); New Canaan, Conn.; New York City; Palm Beach, Fla.; and Paris.
“Our skill sets complement one another perfectly,” explains Delphine. This is certainly evident in the book, as the stylish pair—Reed is chief artistic officer of Tiffany & Co., and Delphine is the Paris-trained interior decorator behind Pamplemousse Design— share a glimpse of their collection of contemporary furnishings and art. “We have been fortunate enough to collaborate on sitespecific works with some of today’s brightest talents,” says Reed of the masterpieces that are seamlessly integrated into the spaces.
Personal friends of the couple, including Hamish Bowles, Simon Doonan, Tory Burch, Jacques Grange and Martha Stewart, all opine on their unique aesthetic. “A house becomes a home when it authentically reflects the unique style and way of living of the people who live there,” says Delphine. When asked if they have a favorite abode, Delphine democratically demurs, then adds: “We love each home just like we equally loved the process of creating them.”
