Sophie Tea is the name, and inclusivity is her game. The U.K.-based artist is shaking the art world by breaking barriers and opening the gates for all.

Sophie Tea challenged the barriers of the intimidating art world when she began posting herself online, creating artwork live in the studio in her signature effortless way. She has since gained thousands of fans and admirers. She specializes in nudes, abstracts, sculptures and what she calls “splats.”

Her latest show, Send Nudes Live, is on tour and coming to Austin in early 2025 (keep watch for dates @sophieteaart). The goal is to make women love their bodies as much as possible. Tea paints live on nude women’s bodies as they walk the runway—women of every walk of life. Tea receives applications in each city and selects a few, though she says, “It gets difficult as they all deserve a place on stage.” Her first show was at the renowned Palladium in London this year, and now she will be making her way through the States.

While touring, she is still working on what matters to her most—painting dynamic women she finds along the way who are remarkable and whose bodies she would like to encapsulate in art form due to their legacy. Tea is changing the way art is seen. She is making it mobile, accessible, and inclusive. “I think art used to be quite an elitist industry, but the world is changing—it’s not some secret club anymore,” she says. “I am excited to see how (galleries) adapt to this new world.”
